We have found beautiful places to camp along the way. The Lake Creek Campground was a Yukon government campground. It was right on the river, and there were two other campers there besides us. We built a fire with the free firewood and roasted marshmallows. We were the only campers at Mendeltna Creek Lodge and RV Park. The good thing about coming early is there are very few mosquitos. Also, fishing is not that great yet, and the animals are more evident and visible in July and August. Also, did I mention we are freezing to death?
